1998 Mercury Grand Marquis
I need some help, i put my 1.2 liter series cell in this car, it has a dual efi and it refuse's to gain any mileage. It has a 4.6 liter v-8 with a maf sensors. Come on ford guys, what is the trick. This is a co-workers ride. I do have a 93 explorer that is getting the hydroreactor cell when it comes.

RE: 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis
I am a Ford guy and I can get nothing with 07 Ranger. EFIE installed turned up until I get open loop and then backed off. Never any difference in engine performance. I have HYZOR and fuel warmer device. Just did resting this morning same MPG with everything off as when turned on. I really am not crazy about cutting into wire harness of a like new vehicle to try other mods since everything I have tryed has not worked at all.

Hi Hydrodine.

You confident the EFIE's installed correctly?

Dajo, open loop? How about a code if you leave it there?

Never got a code but only left it in open loop for short time. It will take app 325mv to go to open.

Hey I also have a mercury: 88 cougar w/ 3.8 v-6 , smack booster, efie, ect, iat, and map mods.... and have only gained a 1.5 mpg increase.... What I see as the problem we all are having is not being able to get the fuel mixture lean enough to see any real gains... The freq based map, or in the case of the newer cars, the freq based maf just won't let the ecu go lean.... I am going to start adding more resistence to the ground on the map and see if I can get some sort of a change.... I am already at 25 ohms.... Keep trying, I know someone will figure it out one day....

To God be all the Glory,
Jimbo

Went out and did more testing on impossible to change Ford, 2007 Ranger 4.0 When turning on EFIE one side shot up to 375mv even though it was adjusted to app 310 yesterday, set comp back in open loop. I let it go to see what would happen with CEL and EFIE. The EFIE slowly came back down took at least 30 min and still kept creeping on down slow. At about 310 closed loop again. CEL never came on and the other side of EFIE held steady reading of around 310. Showed the same MPG in open loop as in closed loop?? Another 50 miles wasted and I do know any more than before.

Dajo, where are you getting power for EFIE? What else is on that circuit?

I will keep all of you posted.... I am adding a pair of terminals to my map adjuster so I can add resistors into the circuit and see what happens.....
