Acetone & Xylol additives to fuel
I added 3 oz. of each to 10 gal. of fuel to a 2000 Toyota RAV 4 and a 1997 Nissan Sentra. The results are roughly a 10% increase in mileage for each. Considering it costs 2 cents per gallon.....it's worth it.

Where are you getting Acetone for 2 cents a gallon? I saw a gallon of it for about 15 bucks in the store yesterday.

1993 Mustang LX
2.3 Liter engine
5 speed manual
8.8 GT axle with 2.71 gears
Smack Design Booster
EFIE currently set at .25
Without HHO was getting 24-25 MPG
Best result with HHO : 29.5 MPG

What do these additives do to the gas to make the difference? I also buy a lot of acetone but not nearly that cheap.

I think he means that it adds 2 cents per every gallon of gasoline....because you only mix 3 oz. of acetone and 3 oz. of xylene

I see what you are saying - at Home Depot Acetone is about 15 bucks here for a gallon - deviding that by 128 ounces works out to about 12 cents per ounce x 3 ounces is about 36 cents per 10 gallons. Heck, if that adds 10% increase on mileage thats a winner.

It's easy to buy Acetone, but where do you acquire Xylol?
And does adding either or both throw off the 02 sensor as well?
I'm asking this as I have not installed an EFIE yet (on order).

Xylene (or sometimes called Xylol) can be purchased at home depot or any paint supply house. As far as the O2 sensor, I have not had any problems.

A QUOTE:

Acetone and Xylene, I was reading about it on smartgas.net and decided to give it a try in 2005 and I have been using it since. I have 3 vehicles,

1: 2003 black Saturn Vue 4 cyl.

2: 2003 Blue Saturn Vue 6 cyl.

3: 2004 Chev. Venture Van 6 cyl.

All vehicles had 3oz. of Acetone added per 15 Gallons of gas and 14oz. of Xylene added per 15 Gallons of gas.

(2 oz acetone / 10 oz xylene per 10 G)

In all 3 vehicles the use of Acetone and Xylene added 3-4 miles per gallon!

In all 3 vehicles the engine ran much smoother and had better response.

In all 3 vehicles you can barely smell the exhaust, acetone and Xylene really help to cut down on emissions.

I also skip every other tank full on the fuel additives, my mileage seems to stay up even on the tank of fuel without the additives. I skip every other tank of fuel so I don't get a acetone build up and don't lose any mileage because of that.

Am I reading that right? You are putting in 14oz of Xylene?

Every other web site or forum post I have read says 3oz of Xylene for every 10 gallons of gas. You might be wasting alot of Xylene.

He uses 10.7 oz xylol per 10 G and 2 oz acetone also. He says it works.

Some people see good results using ~ 1 oz acetone per 10 G....espec with no ethanol in the gas.

Each vehicle can react differently and it depends on whether your gas has ethanol in it. So you TEST.
