Antifreeze leak on the road. My experience.
Hi!
I just want to publish this information, because it is useful in emergency situations.
It happens to me when I drive from village to city. I notice the temperature rising up dramatically and stop the car. When I open engine bay I observe big leak from the right side of the motor where timing belt, generator belt is laying. Leak was very big and powerful. I start to think and remember about "Mythbusters" experiment with fresh egg in the cooling system.

(This myth is tested at 32 minute)

I made the decision to drive to the supermarket to buy some eggs. In the supermarket I take some water for "operation" too. OK. I start with some eggs in the engine and put some water and start engine. After some time adding eggs and water I notice good exchanges- water with eggs made the seal and I successfully reach the city and home.

In the next day I go to the garage and start to think about damage Smile of this my emergency drive from village to the city. I screw out thermostat and yes it was in very bad shape- all with cooked eggs. I start to search the internet- how to wash away all this garbage from cooling system.
I find this info:

After I start to look at Enzymes washing powders for laundry and find this info:
http://www.tri-bio.com/about

In K-Rauta supermarket I find this Tri Bio "washing powder".

I find the problem too- the leak was from the "engine head plug" which was eaten by corrosion.

To wash away cooked eggs I use 5 Liters of water and 1 or 2(it`s up to you, guys) these tabs:

You must remove thermostat and in place of normal thermostat you must use this "modified" cut version, because of possible damage of the engine if you drive without thermostat:

After some hundred kilometers of "washing road" we drain it out and if we feel strong egg smell we must repeat process. After that we replace thermostat with new or modified Smile like here and change water to antifreeze.

That`s all.
Thank you!

RE: Antifreeze leak on the road. My experience.
I made it! Smile
I recommend use of 4 Tri-Bio tabs for dissolving of eggs in the engine/ radiators(external, internal). 2 tabs is not enough- it is very long process and not guaranty success. My recipe is:

Drain all water, remove and clean thermostat- put inside thermostat with "holes" in it- I recommend with 1 or 2 (3mm) holes like here:
http://www.atvpt.com/enginetechxpstathousing.htm
These holes help to "chop" eggs when engine is hot and run.

For very good results we must take 4 tabs and 5 Liters of water and mix all it together.

After, we must pour all this mix inside engine(white mixture) and start engine and we must reach temperature about 40 degree Celsius and leave the car to "rest" at 24 hours.
After 24 hours we can check- is it enough or not. If we need to drive then we go, but enzymes work best at 20-40 degree Celsius. After 24- 48 hours of "dissolving" process (without driving- only heating of mixture) it is recommended to drive 100- 200 km and to check is there heat inside car when we turn on "hot air" ventilation. If temperature inside is high enough we can replace all this mixture with antifreeze and job is done!
Cheers!
