Dry cell leaking - what rubber ?
My new dry cell is leaking like a seive.. (see my HHO Woes thread)

I used 3mm Art and craft soft foam sheets but this doesnt seem to have much resilience.

Can anyone recommend a type of rubber that is easy to get hold of ?

What shape are you gasket? I have hundreds of the buna 3" rubber O Rings from a dry cell I reversed engineered. You can have them just pay the shipping for them. If you have square gasket use the shower liner from Loews.

Thanks for the offer, but I have sourced some Neoprene 3mm rubber from a local supplier but he needs to do a special order for 40A Duro (approx $60 for a full sheet 1.2m x 1m - purple pig)

Before I go that way I will try some rubber mastic tape and see if that works ?

Don't waste money,do the job properly from the start. The best to use is EPDM and 40 duro is too soft and will compress too much. You need at least 60. If you want to cut it yourself try Macmaster-Carr.If you want them cut call my partner Larry at 936 254 3451.

I'm using 3mm neoprene sheets (not the foamy stuff) and it is nice and tight. EPDM is apparently even better in terms of chem resistance. Good luck.

For reliability testimonial for Larry, I ordered some end plates from him the Etch version. I use to cut my own gasket, now time is essential for other things Larry is now cutting my EPDM 60 for my cell. Give him a ring he is a nice guy.
