Sad EFIE breaks fuel pump...
In the past few months during my better mpg trials, I have had to do more than $2,500 in repairs. And I am sure it all ties into the mpg mods. My fuel pump just broke yesterday only after 25k miles! That's all the miles my truck has on it. I only had an EFIE installed after I took everything else off. SO my question is this: can an EFIE ruin a fuel pump, either by shorting it out or anything? Mind you I am using an EFIE without HHO or any alternate fuel source.

Only if you're adding junk (something other than gas) to the gas tank or running your tank extremely low, like waaay below empty.

Just the STP Gas saver additive. But since the EFIE tells the engine (in a way) to draw less gas because it's running rich, will that dry out the fuel pump or cause it to get faulty and break?

Nope. Makes it work less, just like idling or driving slower would do.

I just wasn't sure if you were using acetone or something the pump didn't like.

What kind of car?
How many miles?
What have you broken so far?
What have you modded?

2003 Ford Ranger 4 cyl. 2.3L 2WD
25,000 miles

The intake manifold blew when HHO gas built up, the fuel line had to be replaced due to a fuel vaporiser breaking off the entire Shrader valve, the MAP sensor was destroyed when the intake manifold blew, the fuel pump fuse blew then also.

I added resistors to these sensors: MAP, MAF, IAT, CTS
And added the EFIE
Added HHO generator to the PVC line

Oh and once I added no more than 8oz. to the fuel tank and let the whole tank empty before I filled up again. I was thinking maybe this might of ate the plastic away in the fuel pump, but it seems so little, it would dilute, and it was only one time. When the mechanic gives me the old one I will look at it and post some pics, it will be interesting to see what exactly happened.

Sounds like most of the problems were accident related then.

I've heard of burning up pumps by letting the tank get too empty. The fuel cools the pump and if the tank gets too low, the pump overheats.

Does acetone really increase mpg? And if so by how much roughly?

I'd search here for acetone. I think I've read where some say it's great and other says it didn't help. I can't say it's a high priority for me. I'm putting more faith in HHO with my E85.

When your HHO blew, you may have sent some kinda back pressure into the pump, hurting but not killing it at the time.

BTW, who told you to inject HHO through the PCV valve?
