I have made this new poll so that peoples names will not show on the poll that way you can vote as you see it and not get jumped on becasue of your opinion.

This poll will not turn into a he said she said as I will not answer any replys what so ever.

CALL YOU CONGRESS MEN AND OR LOCAL LEGISLATOR AND TELL THEM TO REMOVE ETHANOL FROM ARE FUEL. TELL THEM FOOD ON THE TABLES OF AMERICANS IS MORE IMPORTANT AND KILL THE ETHANOL FROM CORN DEAL. ETHANOL FROM CORN CAUSES EVERYONE TO PAY MORE FOR FOOD.

Well if it's ethanol verses fossil fuels, why not ethanol? Environmentally, it seems a cleaner choice (although our wallets will likely hurt as much with the main source being farmed corn; but at least it will go into agriculture and not the oil industry).

While this may be true, but I think that no matter what the "fuel" of tomorrow may be, there will always be some sort of "industry" that will extort it to the fullest for their gain, just like the oil industry has. There is a reason why certain technologies have been slow to develop - someone, somewhere, has to have their cut into it.

1993 Mustang LX
2.3 Liter engine
5 speed manual
8.8 GT axle with 2.71 gears
Smack Design Booster
EFIE currently set at .25
Without HHO was getting 24-25 MPG
Best result with HHO : 29.5 MPG

So to your point the farmer should not profit? Again they get the short end. Every hand a product passes through makes money, employees are hired to cover the transfer from one point to the other, so in a sense what you ask is to enable unemployment.
Ethanol is a small part taken from corn the rest is used for the grain to feed animals. Ethanol is also made with lumber and many other sources, should it all be deleted? Employment is just as much a necessity as the food you buy, well unless you are able to provide for yourself.

There are a lot of people ( farmers especially) who realize the moral objection to using food for fuel when so many in the world are starving.

1. On a more practical note, a gallon of ethanol gas will not take you as far down the road as a gallon of pure gasoline. ( less available BTUs of heat available). Your paying the same per gallon but getting less "bang" for your buck. ( using more fuel = more pollution)
2. Ethanol absorbs moisture, so metal fuel tanks & fuel lines will rust very quickly. ( all modern tanks & lines are now plastic.)
( I work on lawnmowers etc. & I see lots of rusty metal fuel tanks.)
3. Ethanol gas costs a lot more to produce than gasoline, so it could not compete in the marketplace unless it was government subsidized,
( which it is). Lots of natural gas is used for heat in the refine process.
4. On older cars, the ethanol damages gaskets, & O rings in carburetors & fuel pumps etc.
We have been sold a bill of goods by the gas companies & government regulators to satisfy the clean ennvironment folks ( EPA standards)
As long as there is lots of crude available, the money managers will not allow new technology & alternate fuels to power our tranportation, only we at the grass roots can do it because we're a drop in the Ocean, & have a very small voice. Keep plugging away !!!!
