FWIW, the bosch maf does not like 10 ohms in series with the ground lead. perhaps, rather, the ecu does not like it. engine hesitates badly, off idle throttle response is sluggish. i put 10 ohms more in parallel to knock it down to 5 ohms; better, but still quirky. 10 more ohms in parallel, now down to 3.3 ohms, and we're back in business with a driveable vehicle.

it all seems rather odd, because the thing will run with the maf disconnected!
