MAP sensor
I was wondering if I could get a little clarifacation on the MAP sensor adjustment. I have a nissan with a 3 wire MAP. It is most likly the common one you are talking about on your "tunning for mileage" page. I wanted to know why a resistor wouldn't work on that either of sensor, pre or post sensor? Thanks

RE: MAP sensor
I have been working with this for a few hours last night. Using a resistor inline or to drain off part of the volts to ground throws codes P0102 Low inout volts. THe ECU sends a signal on start up of 5v the output of the MAP sensor needs to read around 4.5v. THis is a check for the computer. anything less will throw a code. I am not sure what happens after the car is already running. You would need to try a switch. And then remember to turn switch off before starting the car. Or you may try a relay.

THe resistor inline on the negative wire in the MAF worked for me 10ohms was the max anything more sent codes.

It raised the volts by .200volts (about)
