Relay heat and blowing fuses
the main power I started with was a 15 amp fuse.. that blew in about 1 minute. Went to hook up of a 30 amp .. that lasted about 10-12 minutes. the 40 amp relay gets pretty hot
Could my lighted toggle switch for the relay have to much amps? should I try and find a source with maybe 1/4 amp?
Why does a 30 amp fuse blow I was putting out good hho while it lasted and getting 59mpg in my 2001 Saturn 1.9 L sl series
HELP from all would be nice

Have you put a amp meter on that cell setup to see the amount of power you are using?
Might have to back down on the electrolyte to lower the amps or take another look at how the cell is constructed. Might have a short within the cell somewhere?
Good Luck!

RE: Relay heat and blowing fuses
some auto relays are designed for brief operating period...others are desiogned for longer operating periods...you might check into that

Pour out half your electrolyte, fill with water and try that (and get an ammeter).

Use distilled water; there's chlorine, fluoride, Fe, Cu, you name it in tap water. Wink

Get an ammeter installed yet? I like this one, but don't see any available yet:

The one amp increments on the dial suggest it's accuracy, however, you'd probably need a shunt to be able to adjust your PWM in one amp increments. Harbour Freight has a 30 amp analog ammeter for $5.95; haven't actually seen one yet because they're sold out almost as soon as they come in.
