I'm building one but not done yet. it does basically what an EFIE does but is simpler and more brute force. Try this site from the designer.

I got mine put together last night but i want to make sure it is functioning correctly before i install it into the car. i guess i look for a fluctuation of a half volt or so on the output wire?

i turned mine on and obviously i did something wrong. the green led exploded and i get 0-3.6v on the pulse output wire.

You probably had the LED in backwards, the are polarity dependant. also replace it with one from radio shack, that is rated for 12 volts.

Depending on which circuit you used. there are some jumpers that are not spelled out on the 555 chip.

On your timer chip, put a jumper between pin 2 and pin 6. Also, 4 is jumped to pin 8, and Pins 6 and 7 are bridged by a 100k resistor to make up R2. Pins 7 and 8 are bridged either by a 1k-10k resistor (or a 250K potentiometer if you are varying your pulse frequency)to make up R1.

thanks i got it working, i forgot 1 jumper. i think the green led was rated lower than the red one i got. i did make sure to hook up the led's to the correct side of the circuit.

I hope Mike won't mind my helping with somone else's circuit. But I think we are all on the same page here. We all have different knowledge and skill sets but a common goal.

It sounds to me like he has a nice backlog of work right now. when i started the project i didnt even know there were others out there with similar products.

It seems all the "makers" of things for improved gas mileage (good and bad) are busy. It's also too bad that so many people think that this is a one size fits all, easy to install, garrrroooonteeed to work deal that any fool can do.

Mine I built doesn't pulse the voltage, the current stays just below 5v (I haven't hooked up a pot yet). I hooked the Red LED that would pulse, but it stays solid red. Any thoughts?
