koh was soo strong it ate the pos side right off the cell!

koh was soo strong it ate the pos side right off the cell!
What the heck, had baking soda for months tried KOH in my meyer replica cell and after 2 weeks at the pos side of cell insde right off. any suggestions, whole cell is 314 s.s.

314? I've see people here use 304 (wall plates and such), without problems in the short term. 316L is recommended. Baking soda is known to destroy plates.

You sure the soda didn't do most of the damage? I doubt they looked like new when you changed to the koh.

im sorry i mean 316, they are s.s tubes not wall plates, stan meyer replica cell it worked fine until i put the white flake koh in, it was so think in the bottom of the cell with gew it was redisculous
